arrange European Renaissance & Baroque period music for Chapman Stick

My name
is Yasuo Asakura. I play the stick in Yokohama, Japan.
It is after it watches a performance of
Mr. Tony Levin on a video of
"the King Crimson Tokyo live broadcasting"
that I wanted to play a stick.
The feeling that watched aurora and a
solar eclipse at the same time if
I compared a shock at that time! It was
the case that was shocking in my
life. I went in a musical instruments
store on the next day and purchased
a stick. At the time of 1990 when I had
a musical instrument in my hand,
there was not the person who could tell
Japan the stick. The acquisition of
the how to play of the musical instrument
watched the teaching rule video
which was on when I purchased it and I
read a manual and practiced it.
I arrange European old music (music of
the Renaissance period and music
of the baroque period) for sticks and
I am enough and I arrange standard
of the jazz for sticks and play it in
solo now.
It is my other music activity, but participates
in the band with a base,
a keyboard, an electric guitar, a sax
(tenor & alto), a drum. In addition,
I play the musical instrument of the lute
group in solo and continuous bass.
It may be a musical instrument of the
collected studies for me there is it in
the stick, and to think! Good point of
the musical instrument which I play
in the past and now and all the performance
technologies seem to be condensed. The combination of the right hand and
the left hand is a drum
and a keyboard. How to get melody lines
of the right hand is guitar, sax &
keyboard! How to get bus progress of the
left hand is a base, a keyboard,
a lute!
The musical instrument which I use now
is 10 string sticks of the old type.
Tuning is Standard tuning. The effects
unit of the guitar part uses GT-100
of BOSS mainly, and the effects unit of
the base part uses GFX-8 of ZOOM.
In the band where I add a guitar synthesizer
module to effector mentioned
above, and I participate in on the basis
of the present, I examine the use of
the stick now.
I invite musical instrument me who I am
solo and the miracle which I hid infinite possibility in by ensemble to
the fantasic world.
